As display technology continues to evolve, color performance has become a critical factor in user experience. As a leading manufacturer in the display module industry, Yousee has launched a high color gamut display solution to meet the demanding needs of applications such as design, post-production, and high-definition video viewing that require precise color accuracy.

Low Gamut vs. High Gamut

Low Color Gamut (45% NTSC, approx. 60% sRGB)

Displays appear washed out, with yellowish greens and pale reds. Color saturation is low and the overall image looks dull. Suitable for general office tasks and web browsing.

High Color Gamut (70%-100% sRGB)

Colors appear vivid and natural with smooth gradients and wide viewing angles. IPS panels offer better transparency and are ideal for design, video editing, and HD content viewing.

Key Parameters and Color Gamut Standards

Color gamut is a core metric for evaluating a screen’s color rendering capability, typically measured by NTSC and sRGB coverage.

Low-gamut displays (45% NTSC / ~60% sRGB) are suitable for basic office applications.

High-gamut displays (72% NTSC / 100%+ sRGB) are preferred for design and post-production.

Professional-grade gamuts can reach 100% Adobe RGB or DCI-P3, offering even broader coverage for advanced color management needs.

The screen type significantly impacts color performance. TN panels, due to structural limitations, usually have narrow gamuts and limited viewing angles with noticeable color shifts, making them common in low-gamut products. IPS and OLED panels provide superior color accuracy and wide viewing angles, making them mainstream options for high-gamut displays.

Visual Experience: High vs. Low Gamut

Low-gamut screens often look dull and flat, with harsh color transitions that may cause visual fatigue during prolonged use. High-gamut displays, in contrast, offer vibrant, richly detailed visuals with wide viewing angles. Even when viewed from the side, colors remain consistent and accurate, greatly enhancing comfort and overall user experience.

Yousee's Color Gamut Enhancement Solutions

To meet market demands for high-gamut displays, Yousee offers two primary enhancement solutions:

☑ Backlight Upgrade

● Approx. 25% gamut enhancement.

● Cost-effective and easy to mass-produce.

● Limited improvement, not suitable for ultra-high gamut targets.

☑ Quantum Film + Backlight

● Over 50% gamut enhancement

● Achieves 100%+ sRGB with ultra-rich colors

● Higher cost, requires stricter production yield and MOQ

Yousee's high color gamut solution combines advanced backlight and quantum film technology, significantly improving color performance to cater to diverse applications—from basic office work to professional design. Going forward, Yousee will continue to refine its color technologies to deliver more vivid and natural visual experiences for users.
